The Power of the personal story...

Personal stories are one of the greatest advocacy tools, and everyone has them!  They help people understand the real-life impact policy will have.  They can motivate people to take action on an issue.  Our friend and colleague Sarah Wrightsman, Executive Director of Workforce Housing Coalition for the Greater Seacoast, wrote this great blog on how effective your personal story can be.

A personal story is different from any other. Well, if you ask me, all stories are personal to us. I am not here to tell you about my personal philosophies when it comes to storytelling, I am beyond that. I hope that we can all talk about it a lot more in your other blogs. I want to go and have a debate to whether things are better, especially stories, when it comes from a deeper and much more personal origin.
